Hi, My brother has been a registered sexual offender 4 10 years. We moved to PA and we thought since in Illinois he would be done registering but found out he now has to register for a lifetime. He has met a women, but she has a 7 year old child and she is preasuring him 2 move in, but from my understanding he is not allowed to live with an underage child. Him, her and I are fighting over because they cant find anywhere that says he cant live with a child. We talked to the state police and they said they dont know the answer, to call megans law. He called megans law and taht person did not know the answer and said study the website. i can't find it on there. I'm loosing my mind over this and all stressed out. Does anyone know 4 sure the answer an where I can find it. I don't want my brother going to prison and I dont want her loosing her kids. Please help. We just want to follow the rules.

Hello, my husband just recently had to go to court in missouri and the plea is 15 days in jail, probation, and register as a sex offender, then back to court April 8 - what he did was show himself naked and getting off on the internet with a mionr 13-15 years old.  However, the girl was actually an undercover cop and their was more than two, one in one couone county of missouri and the other in another county in missouri.  We live in Oklahoma.  i have some questions, please someone email me back at dawnas2boys@hotmail.com - questions: I was told by someone that if he has to register, child protective services may get involved and try to take the boys away from both of us, so do i need to move away from him?  If so, will he get visitation?  Does he need to move as he lives 5-10 miles from a daycare and school?  He is a truck driver, will he loose his job and will he be able to get another job?  I really do not know what to do, I would like to support him, but everyone is telling me I need to divorce him and move away from him, any advice?

Dear Jerry,
Thanks for your comment.  Unfortunatley there is no way to be removed from the list. That is just one reason that our inclusion on the sex offender registry is unconstitutional.  It's called DUE PROCESS.  In this country we have due process for all other punative measures.  Once again the law makers in this country have  found it more important to give the public what they want (increasingley more punative laws) then to worry about little things like the constitution of the United States.  So guys like us just have to wait it out till we come off the list to try and get a job or a place to live.  For those of us who have lifetime registration, there really is NO hope.  The result is that we all become wards of the state (medical care, housing, public assistance) costing the tax payers more
money.  Most people just don't get it!  Jerry, you have done your time and should not be subject to the highly punative listing on the sex offender registry.  That too is unconstitutional.  I wish you luck (you will need it) the best outcomes.  Keep you head up and believe in yourself.  That's really all of us have anymore.

OK. Here gos. I'm Jerry and I'm a sexoffender and my crime was when I was 19 years old and the girl was 14 years old and she lied to me and said she was 16. Well I just wanted to voice my thoughts and all. I don't think it's right with all the laws and all. I can't get a job with my charger and I can't find noone that will take me on with this and be with me. I hope here in NC there 10 year thing is true and I can get off this list. I want to take a stand but I need the people to back me. I don't think they need more laws I think they need to do what they want to with the ones that need to be on the list and the ones that don't need to be on it need to come off it. I have a 16 month old little girl I can't go to church with or take her to the park to play. I need to know if there is anyone out there that's in NC and has got off the list. How did you do it ????

Hey, WBG, sorry I haven't written for a while.  It's over 1 1/2 years, now and still no job or a place to live.  I've been staying with my mom cause my father died December 22,2008.  I've been incarcerated again for the simple fact that I wasn't able keep my room at my rooming house.  I wasn't notified of my father's death until I was released and NOT by the CO's or the Jail; I was told the morning I was released by my sister's boyfriend.  8 hours after!  If you'd like to send a message, please do----I would like to hear from you.  Thanks.

I'm so glad I found this site.  My fiance is a registered sex offender.  He did something really really bad 25 years ago.
When I met him, I didn't judge.  I figured that if the State says he paid his debt, who am I do judge?  He is a wonderful
man.  Has a heart of gold.  Oh boy.  I didn't realize the mass hysteria that comes with us living together.

I've recently incorporated a "soon to be " non-profit, SEASCAT... that's Supportive Environment for Adult Survivors of Child Abuse & Trauma.  And you are right.  The laws don't work.  They practically end the life of someone who at 21 yrs old may have loved very much someone who just happened to be just a few years younger.  And they don't do a thing to get off the streets someone like my friend's father who is a pedophile- because no one has ever managed to convict him.  My friend, the inspirataion for SEASCAT, has been through hell, as well as the few who have tried to help him in his recovery.  He was abused repeatedly from the age of 9 months until he was 17- by his father.

I also understand homelessness.  I'm bipolar and ptsd from my child abuse and at middle age and with numerous health problems have been there more times then I can count.  I do wish you the best and hope that some day, someone finds a way to make life a bit more fair and balanced for all.

My name is KH and I am a registered sex offender also. I am a registered sex offender from my conviction of burgalry of habitation with intent of commit rape. This crime involved my 26 year old ex-girlfriend. I was 26 years old also. The crime took place in 1983. I have been living the registered sex offender life for 25 years.

The stima in prison is just as bad or worst than it can be in society. I will adhere that my life is fairly normal in that I have a great wife, a great job, and I am a homeowner. My life is good because of good family support and a community that has watched me become a productive member of our community.

I will concur that society is doing its best to send us all to leper colony where out of sight, out of mind rings true. My voice needs to be heard that it is possible for a registered sex offender can be a good neighbor.

Thanks for your site. I will be back.
